I’ve been joining Mommy Moments for almost 2 years now. I started participating in this meme on January 18, 2009, and I think I haven’t missed a single entry since then. Chris even gave me 3,000 Entrecard points last year as a token of gratitude for having had the highest number of Mommy Moments’ entries for the year 2009.

I’ve said this before that Mommy Moments is the only meme I’ve joined since I started blogging actively during the last quarter of 2008. That’s because I’m a busy work-at-home mom, and I only have time for just one meme. Mommy Moments is also aligned with my blog’s purpose, which is to document my child’s milestones. I was able to do that with some of the photos of my son that I’ve shared every Friday.

Now, let’s get started with this week’s theme. I’ve just gone over my list of Mommy Moments’ entries for 2010, and my runaway favorite is “Lights, Camera, Pose!” It’s an accomplishment for us moms when we’re able to capture our children’s cutest, nicest pictures, and I think I’ve done that in two of my photos for this theme, which I posted last August 6, 2010 and which I’m using again for today’s “Most Memorable Mommy Moment in 2010.”

My husband is a certified movie buff. His growing collection of VCDs and DVDs is a tangible proof of his fascination with movies. It’s the same reason, too, why he bought a big TV when he moved to our condo unit in 2008. He wants to get a cinematic feel when he’s watching movies at home.

I know he plans to have his own home theater someday, and to help him get started on this endeavor, I’m doing my own research on what items we need to make his dream come true. Scouting for home theater décor and accessories on the Internet is not easy as there are too many choices. I guess I’ll just make hubby decide which ones he likes for his dream home theater.

Because it’s been our tradition to celebrate Christmas with the entire family, all four of us (Justin, his Dad, me and his yaya) trooped to my parents’ place in Dasmariñas, Cavite last December 24.

We actually did not have a Noche Buena because we really intended to have our Christmas family get-together on Christmas Day itself. That’s because we still had to wait for my father’s older sister (Auntie Mameng) who has celebrated Christmas with us for several years now. She’s our original Santa Claus.

It’s from her that I inherited the habit of giving gifts to family and friends on Christmas Day, no matter if I’m not able to buy anything for myself anymore. LOL! Christmas is giving, right? So I give ‘til it hurts! Ouch! But I’m happy to share my blessings with the people I love; that happiness is my Christmas gift to myself.

First things first, we needed to eat. Here’s what we had for lunch on Christmas.

Isn’t it obvious that everybody wanted to sing? My son hogged the limelight, too. Never mind if he sang the same two songs over and over again. LOL! We all wished there were more karaoke machines to accommodate everyone.

As you can see from the pictures, we all had great fun on our Christmas family reunion. We’re all looking forward to a grander Christmas celebration next year!

My four-year-old son got to experience being Santa Claus for a day to the kids in my parents’ neighborhood. Since we cannot consume all of the sweet treats that we received as Christmas gifts from friends, we decided to have them distributed to these children instead. My parents added more goodies inside the small plastic bags that my son handed out to these kids.








Justin also helped his lolo (grandfather) in giving coins to the children carolers on the night of the 24th and to the other kids who knocked on my parents’ door on Christmas Day. Hopefully, playing Santa Claus last Christmas had instilled in my son the value of giving and sharing.

I got the surprise of my life today when we arrived at my parents’ place in Dasmariñas, Cavite. Since my younger sister moved there, a lot of things have changed. The house underwent major renovation. The living area was extended, the cooking and washing areas have been moved to different places, and there are new furniture items inside the house. Everything looked great; not a single hinge spring needs to be replaced, although interior painting is not finished yet. They now have a WOW Magic Sing, too, that I really love! Believe me if I tell you I spent more than 2 hours singing my heart out. Belting out nonstop melted all my stress away! Even my son had a grand time singing with Mommy.

Like most Filipino families, we, too, observe some Christmas family traditions every year. One of those traditions has something to do with food. Each year, we make sure we have Christmas ham served during Noche Buena. Yesterday, hubby brought home Purefoods Fiesta Ham that we simply had to try for our midnight snacks last night.

Another family tradition during Christmas is giving gifts. Every Christmas, I make it a point to prepare gifts for each member of the family. Christmas is the time of the year that I can play Santa to others. This is actually a tradition that started when I began earning my own money and was inspired by a dear aunt who played Santa during Christmas to us when we were young and until now. A good portion of my 13th month pay is spent on buying Christmas presents for those people on my list.

And of course, Christmas is celebrating with those we love. In a few hours, we will be heading to my parents’ place in Dasmariñas, Cavite to spend Christmas with them. My son is already excited to see his grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins, and most of all, the gifts he would receive from them. LOL!

Christmas is really the season to be jolly, so I’ll forget about work and car insurance rate today and tomorrow. Is that okay, Boss?
