Finally, my unlucky streak was broken! Yesterday morning, Michelle of My Mom-Friday commented on one of my blog posts and told me I was one of the winners of her Tutti Frutti (Centris Walk) Froyo Treats.

The mechanics of the contest were fairly easy. You simply have to answer this question: What flavors do you want to try at Tutti Frutti Centris Walk? This was my answer: “I would love to try the following flavors: Blue Berrilicious, Melony Felony, Splenda Strawberry, and Taro-bly Delicious.”

I needed to write down my answer in her comment box and register my name and e-mail in the form provided to verify my identity. Then, to increase my chances of winning, I also subscribed to her blog, followed her on Google Friend Connect and Twitter, and liked My Mom-Friday page on Facebook.

I won one (1) medium cup of my choice of frozen yogurt from Tutti Frutti Centris Walk. Michelle said that the medium cup of Tutti Frutti froyo can actually serve two people! Isn’t that great? I just hope I have time to claim my prize before September 30.

I’ve joined quite a few online contests already since I started blogging, but I’ve never won anything because, well, I’m just not lucky! This has enforced my belief that I’m not cut out to be an online contest winner, until Michelle’s notice came.

Thank you, Michelle, for breaking my unlucky streak! You’re heaven-sent! I think I should join more online contests from now on.

mommy moments

I actually found it hard to look for photos for this week’s theme or even to write about it. The thing is whatever we own right now will ultimately go to our son because he’s an only child. Don’t get me wrong, though; we’re not rich and my son won’t inherit riches from us someday, although I’m sure all parents would like to leave their children a fortune because we all want our children to live comfortable lives.

If there’s one tangible “pamana” my husband will give to Justin, that will be his collection of VCDs and DVDs. Hubby has accumulated quite a number already, and his collection is still growing. My son is quite fond of watching movies at home, too, so I guess he’ll be more than happy to receive those VCDs and DVDs from his Dad someday.

Hubby’s growing collection of VCDs and DVDs

Material things aside, we would like to leave our son something he can be proud of. Who was it that said that “the greatest inheritance we can leave our children is a good name.” We want our son to hear from other people how his parents never cheated or maltreated anyone and never stepped on anyone’s toes. So yes, that will be Justin’s greatest inheritance from us.

I was invited to the product launch of Avon’s newest baby, AVON BABY, yesterday at Arts in the City, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. The event was hosted by Ms. Isa Litton. It was supposed to be a day of activities for mothers and children, but I went without my son because he has classes yesterday. I brought along my younger sister instead.

The audience was given samples of the Avon Baby products. I applied a small amount of the Avon Baby Moisturizing Lotion on my skin, and I love it! Indeed, it’s very mild, and its gentle scent lingered long after the event.

We had a sumptuous buffet lunch first before the product launch, giveaways, and photo opps.

Thanks, Avon, for inviting us! I used your head-to-toe wash and shampoo on my son before he went to school today. He loves the smell of it, and so do I! He wanted me to apply the moisturizing lotion on him, too, but we're already late for school.

In one of my April posts, I wrote about how we have switched from one DVD player to another in the past. We’ve tried Xenon twice, Sansui, and NextBase. What we’re currently using at home is our fourth DVD player. Nope, our first three DVDs didn’t just malfunction; someone was responsible for the way they turned out to be, my son. He does wonders to these poor gadgets, you see. Our current DVD player is now off-limits to him. We’re not letting him touch the remote control or the DVD player itself. If he wants to watch a movie, we make sure we’re the ones operating the DVD player. We do this with one purpose in mind, which is to prolong the life of our fourth DVD player. Should our present DVD player break down, too, we plan to buy a Samsung DVD player next time. Have any of you experienced the same problem?
