Last Sunday, December 19, 2010, my husband and I went to Marquee Mall in Pampanga upon the invitation of Ms. Cel Mabalot of ELRO. Marquee Mall is an Ayala Mall situated within Angeles City’s business district. It opened in September 2009. This mall has an upscale feel without the upscale prices. I also appreciate the fact that it’s not too crowded.

It took us two hours to get to Marquee Mall from Manila, and we arrived there just in time for lunch. We had a sumptuous meal at Gerry’s Grill, and you bet from what we ordered that we needed to visit www.lipofuzefatburner.com afterwards.

Clockwise: Ed, Tetcha, Millet, Joey, Faith’s sister, Faith, Jen and Cel

Our first stop was Bambu store. I’m telling you this place is so alive, so inviting! The colorful displays are enough to entice you to check out what this store has to offer. We saw their latest collection of Grendha, Ipanema and Rider footwear. And you know what? We got to shop for not just one, but two pairs, of our choice, too. It didn’t take me long to choose my loot: a brown pair of Grendha slip-ons and a gray-and-black pair of Ipanema sandals.

Then, it was time to watch “A Christmas Ballet Concert.” This show was presented by Ayala Malls and Steps Dance Project in cooperation with Ipanema and Grendha. This ballet concert featured “Pinoy Christmas” and excerpts from the classic Christmas tale The Nutcracker. I already saw this at the Glorietta Activity Center last November 20, but I watched it again and enjoyed it again. Hubby took new photos, too.

We went home before 4pm, dozed off during the duration of the trip and arrived home safe and sound at 6pm. Thank you so much, Cel, for inviting us. When will we do this again?

We watched “A Christmas Ballet Concert” at the Glorietta Activity Center this afternoon. This show was presented by Ayala Malls and Steps Dance Project in cooperation with Ipanema and Grendha. This ballet concert featured “Pinoy Christmas” and excerpts from the classic Christmas tale The Nutcracker.

Storytelling of The Nutcracker began at a few minutes past 1pm, and the ballet concert officially began at 2pm.

We enjoyed watching the ballet concert, I particularly, because all I did was watch; hubby was the official photographer, that’s why. Nope, we didn’t need scopes because we had a good view of the show from where we were seated. My son also had a blast running after the girl that served cheese and hotdog on sticks to the guests. Michelle and her kids were also there, and that made watching the ballet concert doubly fun.

Thanks again, Cel, for inviting us! This was indeed an early Christmas gift!

Ipanema presents its Resort Wear Collection for Spring Summer 2011 at the Philippine Fashion Week last Thursday, October 28, 2010 at Function Rooms 2 and 3 of SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia. I got an invite from Cel Mabalot who allowed me to bring my sister along to this event.

The Philippine Fashion Week, which is now on its 13th year, is the most awaited affair among fashionistas. The event showcased Ipanema’s colorful and chic resort sandals together with the creations of four of the country’s top resort wear designers, namely: Anthony Nocom, Ramon Favila, Ricky Abad and Simon Ariel Vasquez.

I have to admit I had a difficult time getting good shots of the models on the catwalk from where I was seated. I even complained to my husband that perhaps it was because of my outdated camera. What do you know; after a few days, he bought me a new one! LOL! Good thing Cel Mabalot sent me nice pictures of the models wearing their stylish Ipanema resort sandals and modish resort wear.

I was happy to see Michelle at the event, too. And Earth was kind enough to give us two passes for the Freego show. My sister and I were not able to see it, though, because it was already getting late, and my sister had to drive all the way to Dasmariñas, Cavite from Mall of Asia, so we missed that event.

Ipanema is exclusively distributed in the Philippines by ELRO Commercial & Industrial Corporation. Ipanema is also available in leading boutiques and shoe stores nationwide.
