Chris has clarified this week’s theme in her blog post yesterday. She said and I quote, “Moving Up Day can mean moving up from current grade level to another grade level, moving from breast to bottle or bottle to cup, moving from doodle to writing words clearly... any achievement your kids had made this past few weeks.”
My entry for this week’s Mommy Moments is Justin’s graduation from Nursery last March 13, 2010. The graduation ceremony was held at the Tektite Auditorium of the Philippine Stock Exchange in Pasig City. All graduating students performed in their school’s Beauty and the Beast production prior to the commencement exercise.
Unlike traditional schools, the graduating students were not asked to wear toga for graduation. Instead, the girls had to wear pastel-colored dresses, while the boys had to don light blue long sleeves top and black pants. Also, unlike traditional schools, Justin's school did not give out medals or awards to students during the graduation ceremony.
I was a very proud mom that day seeing my son performing well on stage and having a wonderful time with his classmates and friends. I was even on the brink of tears, and to think that my son is only in preschool. LOL! How much more if he graduates from college?

Congratulations! My son's preschool before was like that too. No academic awards because all children deserve an award just by completing the school year and getting better. :)
