I’m sorry I posted late for this week’s theme. I failed to clarify with Chris what this Friday’s theme is and e-mailed her rather late. I just learned yesterday that part of the family can be anybody (aunts, uncles, cousins, godparents) or any pet or toy that we consider part of our family. I still wasn’t able to post yesterday because I had to take my son to his pedia in the morning and I had to attend the You’re the 1, Goldilocks! event in the afternoon, hence, this very late posting.
Now, back to our topic. The picture you’re seeing is that of my dear Auntie Mameng with our little boy Justin. Auntie Mameng is my father’s elder sister and my godmother. She has always been part of our family because in the beginning, we lived in one big house together, my grandmother’s house. She practically saw us (my siblings) grow up. She was our family’s Santa Claus; every Christmas, she would prepare presents for everyone, and for us kids, that was something to look forward to on Christmas Day. She has been working as medical secretary for God knows how long, and because she knows many doctors, she always helped our family when any of us got sick. We would have free/discounted consultations or lab tests, which we’re very much thankful for because life wasn’t easy for us during those times. She’s now in her 70s, but it doesn’t show. She’s as healthy as a horse (I hope she stays that way), and she’s still working, would you believe?
