This week has not been very good to me, and I’m glad it’s almost over. Last Tuesday, my computer wouldn’t boot up. I panicked because I haven’t backed up all of my recent office files stored on my PC. To add insult to injury, I lost my Internet connection at home. I had no choice but to go to our office to work. It’s only today, Saturday, that Globe finally fixed the problem, although I don’t want to be too complacent about that.
It turned out that my five-year old PC (yes, you heard that right) badly needs to be defragged, and now it’s working perfectly fine again, thank you. (God must have heard my prayer as we still don’t have a budget for a replacement.) I’ve worked for a total of 3 days in the office this week; that could have been four if I wasn’t absent on July 1st to accompany my husband to his doctor’s appointment.
Now, what am I saying here? After working from home for almost one year now, I have realized that I don’t want to go to work in the office anymore because it’s too taxing physically because I still have to drop my son to school and wait until he’s settled before I could leave for work and because I have to suffer the scorching heat as I cross the Ortigas footbridge, mentally because I’m missing the chance to know what my son is doing the whole day which working from home allows, and financially because now I have to pay for transportation and food if I haven’t prepared packed lunch and snack.
I hope the coming week will be better.

6 pensive thought/s:
glad you survived your week, Tetcha. mine is just plain boring. may next week be better for all of us.
i feel you abt the computer, when husband's lappy went ka-boom for a week, I was so surprised about him being ok with it, I mean wala lang, I keep telling him if it's my lappy, I would definitely go crazy.
Gosh..I can't imagine myself walking along the footbridge, mahihimatay ako sa sobrang init, and I don't think I'm maarte or such, it's just too hot now, unlike before, ngayon nakakamatay na talaga ang init sa atin, daig pa ang desert heat!
really, there's no place like home!
I realized one thing too: I don't want to work in the office for more than 8 hours everyday. Parang di ko kayang di mkita kids ko or di ko sila maturuan ng assignments! Pero minsan kasi kailangan magwork talaga e. Kaya if ever dumating ang time na un, I'll accept it pero make up na lang ako sa kids ko pagdating ko.
Thanks for sharing this Tetch, nakakarelieve isipin that someone shares my sentiment. THanks!
I hope that this week is better for you. I had a horrible week too!
I am glad that your PC is ok na but anyways! I know the feeling and I guess mommy Willa is right that there's no place like home talaga.
My gosh it's too hot already and polluted na kasi sa Metro Manila kaya ang hirap mag transportation lalo na sa QC area..I hope you will have a wonder week Tetcha!!!
I wish you all the best for a better week! have a lovely day!
